Join us in heartful celebration, as we approach the 10-year anniversary of the WHEAT Institute: an honouring of community, art, and Mother Earth.

This celebration will be a wonderful occasion for you and your cohort to reunite and reminisce on the memorable experiences shared during your training, as we come together as a WHEAT community of Alumni, Students, and Faculty to celebrate the positive impact each of you has had on each other and the field of art and expressive arts therapy.

We are very excited about this dynamic offering which intends to support schools in accessing the power of the arts in supporting student engagement, inclusion, and sense of belonging, while also supporting teacher well-being.

What is the Tamalpa Life/Art Process?

This movement-based expressive arts therapy series is based on the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, an intermodal approach which explores the wisdom of the body as expressed through movement, dance, and imagination.

Here is a broad brushstroke describing the relationship, overlap, similarities, and differences between Art Therapy (AT), Expressive Arts (ExA), and Expressive Arts Therapy (ExAT) in Canada. In addition, we have included important information on the context of our AT/ExA/ExAT training within the field of therapeutic arts, and how we interface with the regulatory and non-regulatory bodies impacting our work, as well as the associations and organizations that actively represent therapists by building solid relationships with regulators and government.

Bonface will be teaching Introduction to Expressive Arts in Conflict Transformation in our new spring training program, Weaving Braids of Belonging: Enhancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through Art, Movement, and Mindfulness Practices.

Amanda co-facilitates our Cultural Awareness and Intersectionalities course in our new spring training program, Weaving Braids of Belonging: Enhancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through Art, Movement, and Mindfulness Practices, and in our Harmonized and Rivers of Solidarity Art and Expressive Arts Therapy Diploma programs.

Tereza will be teaching Mindfulness & Meditation classes in our new spring training program, Weaving Braids of Belonging: Enhancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through Art, Movement, and Mindfulness Practices, and in our Rivers of Solidarity Expressive Arts Certificate launching this July 2023.
